NAGGING AND LONG BORING DISCUSSIONS. IN THE SUMMER 2017 I FELT THAT IT WAS ENOUGH. My son Joel was eleven years old and spent more and more time with his Playstation. He put on his headset and disappeared into amazing worlds. He met old and new friends, learned many new things and had a lot of fun. But he stayed seated – hour after hour.
For each day, Joel's interest in activities like playing soccer, skateboarding or fishing diminished. And every day we argued more about the importance of being physical active. This summer my idea around SCRIIN was born.
All the founders of SCRIIN have worked for a long time in the IT industry. We see all the benefits of the digital society, but we are also aware of the reverse side of the coin. We need to rethink and create a world where children can learn how to balance screen time and physical activity.
A world where future generations grow up to be active and healthy.
